Throughout history powerful and influential figures from politicians to performers, inventors to artists have carried out incredible acts on very little sleep.
It begs the question: "Does needing a lot of sleep, rather than a little, separate the great from the rest of us?"....
"I believe that there are some people who truly need less sleep," agrees Dr. Barry Krakow, author of "Sound Sleep, Sound Mind: 7 Keys to Sleeping Through the Night."
"But in general, the people who get by on less sleep are using something to compensate," he adds. "These celebrities and politicians getting by on less sleep … we know that many of them are ingesting large quantities of caffeine. And I guarantee you they could not get by without that."
